Project Update- Timescale
2nd Consultation- likely to be held late May.
3rd Consultation (Statutory)- 2025
DCO- 2025/26 (will take approx. 2yrs)
Construction- 2029-40
Individuals can register on the “Planning Inspectorate website” for updates.
PRE-SUBMITTED QUESTIONS:
Residential Support Scheme
Feedback has led to amendments, details of which are to be circulated shortly. The scheme is due to be launched around the time of the 2nd consultation. There is NO scheme for those nearby but outside the boundary (ie outside the pink & grey).
Associated Developments
Details of water Treatment works and Pumping stations, etc are still to be finalised as are the upstream transfers from the River Witham and River Trent.
The Emergency masterplan is to be shared at 2nd consultation including visions for the road layout.
How will River Witham fill the reservoir?
Design is progressing, more details available at 2nd consultation.
3D Model
No 3D model will be available at 2nd consultation. Imagery may be available at 2nd consultation.
Emergency Drawdown procedure
Not as advanced as some areas. Some info will be available at 2nd consultation. Requirement to be tested annually.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENTS
Masterplanning
Ongoing with designers/ landscapers. More info will be available at 2nd consultation.
There are quarterly newsletters being sent out. It is possible to subscribe as organisations such as Parish Councils.
Majority of people present were having difficulty receiving these newsletters despite registering.
Environmental Assessments
Surveys are ongoing. A second round of surveys will soon start. Scoping report to be submitted September.

RESERVOIR’S EFFECT ON THE WATER TABLE
At the meeting it was stated that Thames Water have acknowledged that in the case of the Abingdon reservoir their proposal for a reservoir would cause the water table to rise by up to 1 metre.
AW were asked: “What causes this problem and why won’t it also be an issue here?” No engineers were present. AW said they would answer the question at the next meeting.
