Our latest edition provides an update on the launch of our phase two consultation for the proposed reservoir in Lincolnshire. 

Phase two consultation opens

We have launched the phase two consultation for our proposed reservoir in Lincolnshire.

Open from 30 May to 9 August, we are welcoming feedback on our latest proposals and are set to host a programme of in-person events across the region.

Over the next ten weeks, you can provide feedback on the latest proposals for the new reservoir, which could eventually supply enough water for around half a million homes. 

The reservoir will store water so it’s on tap when we need it, meeting the challenges of a changing climate and growing population. This means less water will be taken from sensitive sources protecting and restoring the environment. Our vision for the project goes beyond just building a reservoir. We want to create a place where water, people and nature come together.

Our latest proposals include an emerging design for the reservoir and the infrastructure we need to transfer water to the reservoir, treat the water, and supply it to homes and businesses across the region.

What we’re consulting on

This is our second phase of consultation, and we plan to hold at least one more phase of consultation as the proposals develop. For this consultation we are asking for your feedback on:

• An emerging design for the reservoir including our ideas for recreation facilities, places for wildlife, access to the site and other features.
• Proposed locations for the infrastructure we need to transfer water to the reservoir, treat it, and supply it to customers.
• The area of land we have identified for construction and mitigation purposes.

Consultation event dates and locations starting soon

 

We are holding a programme of events and webinars for members of the public to meet our team, ask questions, and find out about our proposals. 

They are being held in central locations such as community halls in the towns and villages closest to the proposed site for the reservoir, and where associated water infrastructure could be located.

Copies of our consultation materials will be available to take away, with large maps of our proposals on display.
