Clerk: Judy Pittock

NOT PRESENT:

Councillors: Mark Robinson, Will Watts, Chris Taylor

No members of the public were present.

1. Cllr Geoff Hotchkin welcomed everyone to the meeting and accepted apologies for absence from Cllrs Mark Robinson, Will Watts and Chris Taylor, and County Councillor Andrew Key.

2. No reports were received from the County and District Councillors.

3. It was resolved to approve the Clerk’s notes for the Annual Parish Meeting held on 17th May 2023 as true and correct minutes of the meeting.

4. Chairman’s Report

Cllr Geoff Hotchkin welcomed the new Clerk Judy Pittock, and extended the Parish Council’s thanks to Julie Dixon for her help with the handover of the position. He also extended the Parish Council’s thanks to Aaron Walker for his help with the speed awareness indicators. It was agreed that they had helped to calm traffic down a bit but there is still a problem with some people reaching excess speeds. It was noted that the solar panel rechargers have been a success and have meant that the times that the indicators are not working has been reduced significantly. The Parish Council continues to work hard to produce a balanced budget and has been able to keep the Precept increase below 5% despite continued increasing costs.

5. Presentations by village organisations.

A report had been received from St Andrew’s Church outlining work at the church, the community café, the food bank and the church clock. This report is attached. Many thanks to the Church Warden for sending this.

6. No members of the public were present.

7. The meeting closed at 7.20pm
